Phu Quoc

0 11

This is the largest island in Vietnam. It is situated in the Gulf of Thailand and has an area of about 600 kms2. It opened to tourism in March 2014 and since then the Government of Vietnam has allowed tourists to enter for a maximum period of 30 days.

Historically dependent on fishing and agriculture, in the last 4 years the economy has changed profoundly with the tourist invasion and with the proliferation of luxury hotels and resorts.

A little throughout the island you can see the unbridled construction of accommodation and the concentration of tourist supply in the most emblematic places

"The evolution of Phu Quoc can be compared to the development of Phuket. I hope that the same mistakes will not be made here and there is planning".
